Albert Jake

Albert Jake, a distinguished Navajo silversmith born in 1959 in Gallup, New Mexico, has left an indelible mark on Native American jewelry. Raised on the Navajo Nation, he learned silversmithing from his parents and grandparents, a heritage he now carries forward from his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he lives with his wife and two daughters.

Jake is celebrated for his intricate overlay technique, where he layers two sheets of silver and carves the top layer to reveal a design. His pieces often feature traditional Navajo symbols, such as the yei, alongside natural motifs like animals, plants, and landscapes. Over his career, Jake has earned numerous accolades, including the prestigious Best of Show award at the Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market in 2005. His work is showcased in prominent institutions worldwide, including the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian and the British Museum.

Deeply committed to passing on his craft, Jake has taught Navajo silversmithing and jewelry-making workshops at places like the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe. A proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he served six years before his honorable discharge in 1984. Through his art, teaching, and dedication, Albert Jake has become a highly respected figure in Native American jewelry, preserving and promoting the beauty and heritage of Navajo culture for future generations.

When Can I Expect My Order to Ship?

Most orders placed by 4:30 PM are shipped the same day. Please note that during peak seasons, like Christmas, shipping may take a bit longer. When you check out, you should see an estimated delivery date. If you have any questions or need to confirm shipping times, feel free to call or text us!

Am I Buying Authentic Native Jewelry?

We prioritize honesty and transparency regarding the origin of our jewelry. Each piece on our site includes a detailed description, and if an item is not native-made, we clearly indicate that. While we do offer a small selection of imported jewelry, we do not support the importation of pieces that replicate original native designs.
