Sunshine Reeves

Daniel “Sunshine” Reeves is a celebrated silversmith hailing from New Mexico, renowned for his intricate and distinctive jewelry pieces. Raised in a family of silversmiths, he learned the art from his brothers, Gray and David Reeves, who instilled in him the value of craftsmanship. His creative process involves transforming flat sheets of silver through an extensive method of deep hand-stamping and shaping, resulting in beautifully crafted items such as bracelets, boxes, and even kerosene lanterns. Each piece showcases a remarkable level of artistry, with every mark on the silver representing a precise hammer blow.

Reeves' work has gained significant acclaim, being featured at prestigious venues like the Peabody Museum at Harvard University and the Heard Museum. His exceptional talent has earned him the Best of Show award at the Inter-tribal Indian Ceremonial, and he is notably the only silversmith to have won Best of Show at the Santa Fe Indian Market.
