Aaron Anderson

Aaron Anderson, born in 1970 in Gallup, New Mexico, is a gifted Navajo silversmith hailing from a family of talented artists. Inspired by his stepfather, Will Begay, and his uncle, Wilford Henry, Aaron began assisting them in 1991 and launched his own career in jewelry-making in 1996. Known especially for his exceptional tufa cast pieces, Aaron draws inspiration from the iconic artist Charles Loloma. Each tufa block he uses is unique and can only be cast once, ensuring every piece he creates is one of a kind.

As a third-generation artist, Aaron is a respected figure in the Native American art community, his work reflecting a blend of cultural heritage and personal faith. His designs weave together elements of traditional Native American symbolism and his strong Christian beliefs. Aaron’s artistry and precision have earned him many awards, including multiple blue ribbons and eight Best in Casting honors at the prestigious Gallup Intertribal Ceremonial. Today, he exhibits his creations at renowned venues like the Indigenous Fine Art Market in Santa Fe and the Native Jewelers Society, where his work is cherished by collectors and admired by peers.

Kingman Turquoise - Arizona

The Kingman Mine, located near Kingman, Arizona, is an active turquoise mine that has been in production since the 1880s, following its discovery by S.A. Colbaugh in the Aztec Mountains. The Colbaugh family continues to mine, process, sort, and distribute Kingman Turquoise. Most Kingman Turquoise is porous and requires processing for jewelry, with only about 3% of the stones being naturally hard enough for direct use. The mine is renowned for its blue matrix turquoise. When selecting a cuff bracelet, keep in mind that the gap allows for some flexibility in sizing, as cuffs can be gently adjusted for a more comfortable fit.
