Michael Calladitto

Michael Calladitto is renowned for his traditional Navajo-style jewelry, characterized by the use of sterling silver and turquoise, featuring intricately stamped designs. He has a deep appreciation for turquoise, believing that the stone enhances his creativity and skill at the bench. Most of the decorative stamps he employs in his jewelry are handcrafted from tempered steel sourced from old car engines. Michael repurposes components like piston rods and valve stems, meticulously cutting designs into the steel with tiny files and other tools to create his unique stamps.

Raised in the village of Pruitt, New Mexico, Michael is a member of the Meadow People Clan and has Apache heritage as well. Primarily brought up by his grandparents, he draws inspiration from the wild and remote landscapes his grandmother, a respected natural healer, introduced him to during his childhood.

Golden Hills Turquoise:

Golden Hills mine is located in Kazakhstan produces turquoise known for its unique periwinkle blues and beautiful burnt umber matrix. This hard, high-grade material yields one of the most chemically pure turquoises available. Mining occurs only in winter due to summer flooding in the area. This rarity and the challenging mining conditions contribute to its elevated price in the market. More Info

Understanding Our Measurements

The length listed for bar necklaces is measured from clasp to hook, including the width of the bar. This total length does not directly reflect how the necklace will sit when worn. To more accurately determine where the necklace will sit, subtract the 'bar width' measurement from the 'length end to end" measurement.

For necklaces featuring extension chains, the length is measured from the clasp to the shortest option. There for if an extension length is listed it is in addition to the listed necklace length, allowing for adjustable sizing.
