Bernyse Chavez
Bernyse is a Navajo silversmith from To’hajillee, NM, with roots in the Red Running into Water clan on her mother's side and the Born for Salt clan on her father's side. She has been honing her silversmithing skills since 1985, learning the craft from her older sister, JoAnn Chavez. With great appreciation, Bernyse remembers the patience her sister showed while teaching her the intricate process of creating silver jewelry. She learned that every piece, regardless of its simplicity, should be crafted by hand as a work of art. Her expertise ranges from plain bezel-set stones to complex stamping techniques, showcasing her versatility as an artisan.
Kingman Turquoise - Arizona
The Kingman Mine, located near Kingman, Arizona, is an active turquoise mine that has been in production since the 1880s, following its discovery by S.A. Colbaugh in the Aztec Mountains. The Colbaugh family continues to mine, process, sort, and distribute Kingman Turquoise. Most Kingman Turquoise is porous and requires processing for jewelry, with only about 3% of the stones being naturally hard enough for direct use. The mine is renowned for its blue matrix turquoise. Understanding Our Measurements
Inside circumference measurements listed for cuff bracelets represent the total inside circumference, including the gap. When selecting a cuff bracelet, keep in mind that the gap allows for some flexibility in sizing, as cuffs can be gently adjusted for a more comfortable fit. Cuffs with multiple stones may be adjustable on a case-by-case basis. If the listed measurements do not meet your needs, we recommend inquiring about adjustability before purchasing. Improperly adjusting cuffs can compromise the stone settings.

Am I Buying Authentic Native Jewelry?
We prioritize honesty and transparency regarding the origin of our jewelry. Each piece on our site includes a detailed description, and if an item is not native-made, we clearly indicate that. While we do offer a small selection of imported jewelry, we do not support the importation of pieces that replicate original native designs.
